Miller Community House MCH provides emergency shelter and supportive services to Portage County families experiencing a housing crisis. Housing is the primary goal for all residents.

Miller Community House provides emergency shelter and supportive services to men, women and children experiencing a housing crisis. Essential to our mission is improving the quality of life for our residents by providing a 30-day shelter that includes advocacy, information and referrals to area resources and collaborative agencies. A Program Manager, Resident Advocate, and Child Advocate along with part-time Housing Specialists currently staff Miller Community House. The residents meet with the Resident Advocate on a weekly basis to establish and implement a plan that includes housing, personal education, job searching, counseling, financial planning and other goals. The Housing Specialists are available to answer the support line, and provide a supportive environment to the homeless families staying at the shelter. Services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

This Thanksgiving, we are reaching out to our wonderful community to help provide a special holiday meal for the at Miller Community House!

We are asking individuals, families, churches, businesses, and community organizations to to prepare or donate one or more Thanksgiving dishes so our families can enjoy a delicious, home-cooked Thanksgiving meal without having to worry about cooking.

We currently have 12 children and 7 adults we would love to provide a special homecooked Thanksgiving meal for!

We are humbly requesting:
🍗 Main Dishes
- Turkey
- Ham
- Rotisserie chicken
- Fried chicken

🥘 Side Dishes
- Macaroni and cheese
- Mashed potatoes and gravy
- Stuffing
- Green bean casserole or green beans
- Corn
- Cranberry sauce
- Dinner rolls and butter

🥧 Desserts
- Sweet potato pie
- Pumpkin pie
- Apple pie
- Vanilla ice cream

🥤 Beverages
- Assorted drinks
- Bottled water

We would love that too! If you have a favorite homemade Thanksgiving dish, family recipe, casserole, dessert, or something special that isn't listed, you are more than welcome to contribute it!
You can sign up for one item or multiple items. Every donation, big or small, is appreciated!

Homelessness impacts our entire community. When a father, a single mother, or an entire family faces the trauma of being unsheltered, we all have a role to play in offering a path back to stability.

Your support helps us provide essentials for men, women, and children seeking refuge: a warm bed, nutritious meals, clean clothes, and critical case management. Every donation helps us keep shelter operating

This is our inaugural "Fall Into Giving" fundraiser, benefitting the families served here at the Miller Community House, and it will be hosted at the Kent American Legion from 6PM - 9PM.
