NWS Update: 10-26-26 @ 3:26 P.M.

KEY MESSAGES:

* Showers and some thunderstorms will begin to spread over the area tonight, and will be widespread from Wednesday through Thursday night, ending Friday morning. 3 main rounds of rain are expected, with spotty light showers & drizzle in between.

Severe storms are still not expected at this time.

* Heavy rainfall amounts are likely (over a 70% chance for 2 or more inches in many locations). This will be a long duration rainfall, vs a torrential rainfall, so flash flooding is not as high of a threat as weeks ago.

* 1-3+" of rain totals could bring field flooding concerns and additional significant rises to area rivers. Isolated totals of 4-5 inches are possible by Friday morning.

Please see the attached graphics for more details about this heavy rain risk.
