🚒🔥 FIRE PREVENTION WEEK 2026 – A SUCCESS! 🔥🚒

The Naval Air Station Key West Fire & Emergency Services team wrapped up another successful Fire Prevention Week!

Throughout the week, our firefighters had the opportunity to engage with our community through Sparky appearances, fire apparatus displays, and hands-on fire safety education at Sigsbee Annex, the Navy Exchange/Commissary, and the Child Development Center (CDC).

This year’s theme, “Charge Into Fire Safety – Safe Charging Is a Superpower!” focused on raising awareness about safe charging practices and the importance of fire prevention in our everyday lives.

👏 A huge thank you to our firefighters, Sparky, and everyone who helped coordinate and support this year’s events. Most importantly, thank you to our NAS Key West community for coming out, participating, and helping make this week a success!

🚨 Fire Prevention doesn’t end after one week. Stay safe, stay prepared, and remember that fire safety is everyone’s responsibility!

🔥⚓ CHIEF SELECTEES TAKE ON SHIPBOARD LIVE FIRE TRAINING ⚓🔥

NAS Key West Fire & Emergency Services had the opportunity to host this year’s Chief Selectees for simulated shipboard live fire training.

The Selectees worked alongside our firefighters through realistic training evolutions designed to reinforce teamwork, communication, leadership, and operating effectively in a challenging shipboard environment.

It was a great opportunity to share our knowledge and experience while giving the Selectees a firsthand look at the demands of shipboard firefighting.

Congratulations to all of this year’s Chief Selectees, and thank you for coming out and training with us!

Train hard. Lead from the front. Always Ready.

🇺🇸 WE WILL NEVER FORGET — 9/11/2001

Today, NAS Key West Fire & Emergency Services pauses to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We honor the 343 FDNY firefighters, first responders, and all those who made the ultimate sacrifice that day. We also remember the families, survivors, and those who continue to carry the lasting effects of September 11th.

For those of us in the fire service, September 11th carries a special meaning. It reminds us of the courage it takes to answer the call, the strength of brotherhood and sisterhood, and the commitment to serve others even in the face of unimaginable circumstances.

Twenty-five years later, their courage, selflessness, and sacrifice continue to inspire us and will never be forgotten.

🇺🇸 We remember. We honor. We will never forget.
