This week, we're gearing up for Halloween in the library with another contest for our PSC students: guess how many candies are in the cauldron!

Write your guess on a slip of paper and stick it in the box, with a limit of one guess per participant. The winner will be announced at the end of this week!

We're getting into the Halloween spirit with our current library display! Revisit classic chilling fiction like an Edgar Allan Poe collection, or pick up a more recent read like Grady Hendrix's How to Sell a Haunted House. From fiction to nonfiction, there's plenty here to get your spine tingling!

And remember, while our materials can only be borrowed by PSC students, faculty, and staff, anyone is free to browse our collection inside the building.

The library is hosting a Board Game Night for all PSC students tomorrow night!

We hope to see you there!

With Fall Break, the librarians are hard at work cleaning things up behind the scenes today! But that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve a little break too!

Paw paws are a delicious native fruit and supposedly were a favorite of our first POTUS, George Washington (according to Jonathan Shipley, a reporter with the BBC).

We hope all our students enjoy their Fall Break with no classes tomorrow!

In case you do still need to get a little studying done before the weekend, or if you just need a quiet place to take a breather, here's a reminder that the library will be open for our usual Friday 8 am-4:30 pm hours.

Feel free to stop by!

For the rest of this , we've set up a special display in the library!

PSC students are invited to borrow one of the books on display, all of which have featured in recent years on the American Library Association's Most Challenged Books lists. These lists, compiled by the ALA each year, document challenges from throughout the country to have books removed from library and school shelves or otherwise restrict access to them in these environments.

They are, of course, not restricted in this library, so stop by and browse to your heart's content!

Happy Monday, and welcome to , a weeklong event dedicated to highlighting the value of open access to information for all! To celebrate, we've started things off with a small whiteboard poll asking students, faculty, and staff to name a book that changed their life.

Keep an eye out this week for more posts from the library as we celebrate everyone's freedom to read!
