🎄 HOLIDAY WITH A COP 2026 🎄

The holiday season will be here before we know it, and we’re getting ready to kickstart our second year of Holiday with a Cop!

The Holiday with a Cop event gives children the opportunity to shop for holiday gifts alongside Benton County Deputies to pick out necessities and gifts. More than just gifts, the program creates positive memories, builds relationships, and reminds children that their community cares about them. It’s one of those events that reminds us just how generous our communities are, and it simply wouldn’t be possible without that support.

As we begin preparing for this year’s event, we are accepting donations from community members, local businesses, organizations, and anyone who would like to help make Christmas a little brighter for local Benton county kids. We kindly ask that donations be made no later than November 29th.

The Benton County Peace Officers Association is a formal 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, making donations tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Whether you’re an individual who wants to give a few dollars or a local business looking for a way to give back to the community, every contribution helps us make this a special experience for local children. We are incredibly fortunate to live in communities that continue to show up for one another. Thank you to everyone who supported Holiday with a Cop last year and to those who choose to be part of it this year.

We’re looking forward to making Holiday with a Cop 2026 another great one! 🎄👮‍♂️

It’s Fire Prevention Week (October 4–10, 2026)!

This year, we are focusing on something we all use every single day: rechargeable electronics powered by lithium-ion batteries.
From smartphones and laptops to e-bikes, scooters, and power tools, these batteries store a lot of energy. When charged correctly, they are completely safe. But improper charging or damaged equipment can cause them to overheat or catch fire.
Use your charging superpower with these simple tips:
* Use the right gear: Only use manufacturer-approved chargers and cords that match your specific device.
* Charge on hard surfaces: Always place devices on flat, hard surfaces—never under pillows, on beds, or on couches where heat can trap.
* Don't overcharge: Unplug your devices once they reach 100% and avoid leaving them charging overnight unattended.
* Recycle responsibly: Never throw old or damaged lithium-ion batteries into household trash or regular recycling bins. Drop them off at a certified collection site (visit Call2Recycle to find a location).
* Spot the warning signs: Stop using a device immediately if the battery smells funny, changes shape or swells, feels very hot, or starts smoking.

September 11, 2001 — 25 Years Later, We Remember.

Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on that tragic day—the innocent men, women, and children who never made it home, and the firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, military members and other first responders who gave their lives answering the call.

We remember the families forever changed, the survivors who carried the scars, and the countless people who came together in that day.

We also remember how, in the days that followed, our country came together—setting aside our differences, standing shoulder to shoulder, and reminding one another what it means to be united as Americans.

25 years later, their memory lives on.
We remember. We honor. We will never forget. ♥️🤍💙🚒🚔🚑
