We asked Stone County residents at our Community Shindig, and now we want to hear from you.

Four water projects are ready to get started in Stone County. Which one would you like to see happen first? đź’§

Do you know a landowner or farmer in Christian or Taney County, Missouri? We want to hear their story. We're seeing input from landowners in the Lake Taneycomo watershed to help us better understand the challenges facing local farms, pastures, and waterways.

Not sure if you’re in the watershed? We still want to hear from you! Please consider filling out our survey and sharing your thoughts.

💧🌱 Don’t forget! Ayla and Erin will be at the Berryville Public Library this Monday to talk about Low-Impact Development (LID) and how it can help slow and filter stormwater and protect our local waterways.

The conversation will also give you a preview of the LID features and landscaping we’ll be bringing to the new library!

Last week, we held our quarterly Water Quality Groups meeting, with speaker Ronda Burnett with the Missouri Department of Conservation who spoke on how native plants can be incorporated into stormwater management practices.

As communities across the Ozarks continue to grow, increased development can lead to greater stormwater runoff. Native plants and low-impact development practices can help manage that runoff while creating green space, supporting wildlife habitat, and protecting water quality.

We thank Rhonda for speaking to our group and sharing her expertise. Our Water Quality Groups meetings bring together community leaders, utilities, agencies, nonprofits, and local stakeholders to share knowledge and discuss water quality topics in the region. If you're a water professional in southwest Missouri interested in joining, please reach out to us!

🎉 The (updated) numbers are in! Our first post miscounted, and we had EVEN MORE volunteers for the Missouri Shoreline Cleanup than originally reported! 👫💙

Thank you so much to everyone who helps to make the Missouri Shoreline Cleanup such a success. This work wouldn't be possible without the support of our community. đź’§

📣 Send this to someone you volunteered with and help us spread the good news!

We're proud to support the exciting work happening through Our Stone County! As members of their Action Team and recipients of a mini-grant supporting septic pump-out rebates, we're helping advance the community's clean and safe water priorities. It's inspiring to see local residents, organizations, and leaders working together to build a stronger future for Stone County. 💙💧
