🦌 Shed Dog Spotlight: Honey 🦌

Todays Shed Dog Spotlight shines on ESD3 NRR Hot Honey HOF, better known as Honey!

Honey achieved an incredible milestone by earning her UKC Elite Shed Dog Series Hall of Fame title at just 27 months old, a remarkable accomplishment for such a young dog.

But Honey's story is about much more than titles and competition. Following a serious car accident involving her handler in June, the road to recovery has been a challenging one. Through it all, Honey has stepped up in a big way, continuing to impress with her unwavering drive, determination, and eagerness to work. No matter the circumstances, she gives her all every time she enters the field.

One of Honey's most special qualities is her versatility and generous spirit. She isn't just a competition dog for her handler. Honey is always ready to partner with youth handlers, helping newcomers gain experience and confidence in the sport. Whether she's running with a seasoned competitor or a first-time junior handler, Honey brings the same enthusiasm, heart, and commitment to the task.

Watching Honey work alongside different handlers and seeing the excitement and joy she creates is every bit as rewarding as earning titles and accolades.

At only 27 months old, Honey has already left her mark on the sport by earning her Hall of Fame title. With her talent, work ethic, and kind nature, there's no doubt she has an exciting future ahead.

🐾 Congratulations, Honey, on your Hall of Fame achievement and for being such an outstanding ambassador for the sport of shed hunting. We can't wait to see what adventures and accomplishments come next! 🦌✨

🦌 Shed Dog Spotlight: Fundy 🦌

Fundy, an incredible Border Collie whose passion for finding antlers is matched only by her impressive work ethic!

At 8 years old, Fundy first earned her WSD title in 2022 after discovering that shed hunting was the perfect outlet when her owner stepped away from agility competition. While agility may have taken a back seat, Fundy's drive to work never slowed down.

A talented nosework competitor, Fundy has earned multiple scent-related titles across several organizations. Her remarkable nose and determination make her a standout in any scent sport, but shed hunting remains her true favorite.

Fundy loves nothing more than locating naturally shed antlers and proudly bringing them back. In fact, the hardest part of the game is convincing her to give them up once she's found them!

Her dedication paid off when she earned her CHSD in 2023, followed by her GRCHSD in the spring of 2026. Every point was hard-earned, and every retrieve showcased the enthusiasm and skill that make her such a joy to watch.

Fundy's journey is a wonderful reminder that the UKC Elite Shed Dog Series is a fun, family-friendly sport that dogs of all ages can enjoy. Rain or shine, Fundy is always ready to hit the field in search of the next antler.

🐾 Congratulations, Fundy, on your impressive accomplishments and your love for the sport. We can't wait to see what you find next! 🦌✨

🐶 SHED DOG SPOTLIGHT: DAISY! 🦌

From a heartbreaking start to living her absolute best life, meet the incredible Daisy! ❤️

When Daisy and her 9 littermates were just 3 months old, they were dumped on the side of the road in Kentucky. But her story didn't end there—she made her way to Canada and has been crushing it in the dog sport world ever since!
While she enjoys several different sports, her absolute favorite is shed hunting. With her super sniffer (and a little help from bone clone), she can track down antlers with zero trouble! 🌲🔍
🏆 Check out her amazing titles & progress:
Earned her WSD (Working Shed Dog) title in record time
Halfway to her CHSD (Champion Shed Dog) title
Working hard on her SD-III title in NASDA
We are so proud of this resilient rescue pup showing everyone what hard work and a great nose can achieve. Drop some love for Daisy in the comments! 👇🐾

🐾 Shed Dog Spotlight: Juno & Korra 🐾

These two talented dogs have proven that shed hunting is for every breed and every age!

Juno earned her Working Shed Dog II (WSD II) title at the impressive age of 12, while Korra made history as the first Dalmatian ever to earn a WSD II title. 🏆

Their team has achieved incredible success in the sport, but there's still one goal left on the list: finding their very first wild sheds! 🦌

Whether in competition or out on an adventure, Juno and Korra show that determination, teamwork, and having fun are what shed hunting is all about.

Congratulations to this amazing duo! ❤️🐾

🐾 Shed Dog Spotlight: Maggie 🐾

Maggie is a yellow Lab who will be turning 4 soon, and what started as a simple interest in finding wild sheds quickly turned into an incredible journey.

After being introduced to shed hunting at a seminar in 2024, her owner had no plans to compete. The goal was simply to enjoy finding sheds together. But after training hard and entering their first competition in 2025, Maggie proved there was nothing to be nervous about. They quickly earned their Working Shed Dog (WSD) title and caught the shed hunting bug!

Since then, Maggie and her owner have traveled to trials across the sport, earning their CHSD, GRCHSD, and ESD titles in 2026. Along the way, Maggie became the first female dog in Canada to earn an Elite Shed Dog title. 🏆

Most importantly, they've had a blast together, made lifelong friends, and continue to enjoy every minute of the game. Now they're chasing Hall of Fame points while looking forward to spending more time finding wild sheds.

Congratulations, Maggie! ❤️🦌🐾

🐾 Shed Dog Spotlight: Chevy 🐾

Just over a year ago, Chevy tried shed hunting for the very first time and gave it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐... or rather, 🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌!

A very non-traditional shed dog, this Border Collie mix quickly discovered the joy of finding antlers and racing through the woods with a big grin on his face. What started as a fun new adventure turned into a big accomplishment when Chevy earned his WSD title this September, just a few weeks before his 11th birthday! 🎉

Proof that great shed dogs come in all breeds, shapes, sizes, and ages.

Congratulations, Chevy! ❤️🐾🦌

🌟 Shed Dog Spotlight: Shania & Willie 🌟

Meet Shania, an 8-year-old chocolate shed dog who has been finding antlers since puppyhood! Last fall, she competed in her first Happy Trails Shed Dogs trial and loved it. When she's not hunting sheds, she's chasing pheasants, dock diving, and keeping tabs on chipmunks.

Her brother Willie, age 5, is a talented shed finder too, though he's often more interested in showing off his antler than bringing it back! 😄

🐾 Two great dogs, one shared love for shed hunting and outdoor adventures!

⭐Shed Dog Spotlight

Cowboy & Maddie Balogh
Some teams just have that spark — and Cowboy, a 6‑year‑old heeler mix, is one of them. Maddie Balogh shared their journey with us, and it’s the kind of story that reminds you why we love this sport. After practicing with their lab friends, Cowboy stepped into competition for the first time in March of last year… and he didn’t just show up — he shined. He earned his Working Shed Dog title in his first five trials, proving he’s got both the grit and the heart for shed hunting.

Now, Maddie and Cowboy are chasing their Champion title, and their passion for the sport has only grown stronger. It’s teams like theirs — dedicated, joyful, and all‑in — that make the shed dog community so special.

Keep after it, Maddie and Cowboy. We’re cheering you on every step of the way. 🦴🐾
