This afternoon, we celebrated the retirement of Sergeant Paul Alexander, who joined the Kings Mountain Police Department on March 23, 2009. For nearly two decades, Sergeant Alexander served the Kings Mountain community with honor, integrity, and steadfast dedication. Guided by a servant's heart and an unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of those he protected, he earned the trust and respect of everyone who served beside him.

Sergeant Alexander, we thank you for your service and wish you every happiness in retirement. Your legacy lives on in the colleagues who served beside you, the standards you upheld, and the lasting mark you leave on this department.

Twenty-five years later, we remember September 11, 2001, and the lives forever changed that day.

We remember those we lost, the families who carried on without them, and the courage of the first responders and countless ordinary people who showed extraordinary strength.

May we never forget their lives, their stories, and the spirit of compassion, courage, and unity that emerged in the days that followed.

September 11, 2001 — We Remember.

Thinking about a career in Law Enforcement?

The Kings Mountain Police Department is looking for motivated individuals who are ready to take the first step toward a rewarding career in law enforcement.

KMPD is currently seeking individuals interested in being sponsored to attend Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET). This is an opportunity to challenge yourself, develop the skills needed to serve in law enforcement, and begin a career dedicated to serving and protecting our community.

Not sure if law enforcement is the right career for you? That’s okay, too. We encourage you to stop by and talk with us. Members of our team would be happy to answer your questions, explain the BLET sponsorship process, and share more about what it means to be part of the Kings Mountain Police Department.

If you’ve been considering a career in law enforcement, now may be the time to take that first step.

BUCKLE UP FOR SAFETY!

Keeping our youngest passengers safe is a team effort!

The Kings Mountain Police Department is proud to partner with Safe Kids Cleveland County and some of our local elementary schools to provide seat belt and booster seat safety demonstrations for students and families during afternoon pickup.

Bethware Elementary and West Elementary have partnered with us to kick off this important safety initiative. As students are getting into their vehicles after school, our team is helping families learn more about proper seat belt use, booster seat safety, and the simple steps that can make a big difference in protecting children on the road.

Thanks to our partnership with Safe Kids Cleveland County, families will also receive helpful safety information and resources. In the coming weeks, we plan to rotate these demonstrations among all of our elementary schools, allowing us to reach even more students and families throughout our community.

A special shoutout goes to our School Resource Officers (SROs), who have done the legwork behind the scenes to coordinate with our schools and help make this initiative possible. Their commitment to our students extends far beyond the school day, and we appreciate their continued dedication to keeping Kings Mountain's children safe.
