Good morning, Kingsland!

The Kingsland Police Department would like to address a concern that has recently been brought to our attention regarding the activity commonly known as “Ding D**g Ditch.”

While some may consider this a harmless prank or simply a case of “kids being kids,” not everyone sees it that way. Running through neighborhoods during late hours, repeatedly knocking on doors, banging on windows, and ringing doorbells can cause frustration, fear, and unnecessary concern for residents.

Unfortunately, in past incidents, these pranks have escalated to the point where rocks have been thrown at windows, creating an entirely different situation that can result in property damage and legitimate safety concerns. What may begin as a joke can quickly go too far.

Parents, please take a moment to speak with your children about respecting other people's homes, property, and personal space. Depending on the circumstances, repeated or disruptive behavior may cross the line into harassment, criminal trespass, loitering, or disorderly conduct.

We also ask residents who experience these incidents to please refrain from retaliating or confronting individuals in a way that could escalate the situation. Instead, contact the Kingsland Police Department's non-emergency line at (912) 729-1442 to report the incident when it occurs. This allows officers an opportunity to respond, investigate, and make contact with those involved on your behalf.

With Halloween right around the corner, we want everyone to enjoy the season, participate in activities, and have fun with friends and family. However, that fun should never come at the expense of another person's peace of mind, property, or sense of security.

Let's work together to keep our neighborhoods safe, respectful, and enjoyable for everyone. Parents, please talk with your children, and residents, please allow us the opportunity to address these situations before they escalate.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and support.

Good afternoon, Kingsland!

As the seasons change and daylight hours become shorter, mornings are getting darker, creating additional safety concerns for students riding bicycles and scooters to Camden Middle School and Camden County High School.

We have seen an increase in students using bicycles and scooters to travel to and from school this year. While these are convenient ways to get around, it is important for young riders and motorists to take extra precautions, especially during the early morning hours when visibility is reduced.

The Kingsland Police Department would like to remind all bicycle and scooter riders of a few important safety tips:

‣ Wear a properly fitted helmet. Protecting your head is essential in the event of a fall or collision.
‣ Be visible. Wear bright or reflective clothing, and use reflectors on your bicycle or scooter.
‣ Use lights. Make sure your bicycle or scooter has a working front light and rear light when riding in low-light conditions.
‣ Look both ways before crossing any roadway. Never assume a driver sees you or will stop.
‣ Follow traffic laws. Obey traffic signals and signs, use designated crossings when available, and ride predictably.
‣ Stay alert. Avoid distractions, keep your eyes on the road, and be aware of vehicles and pedestrians around you.
‣ Use sidewalks and designated paths when available and permitted, while remaining alert for vehicles at driveways and intersections.

A reminder to parents and guardians: Please take a moment to check your child's bicycle or scooter to ensure it has the proper lighting and reflectors for riding in the dark. A quick safety check before heading out the door can make a significant difference.

To our motorists, please slow down, remain alert, and watch carefully for students traveling to school, particularly near Camden Middle School and Camden County High School. Reduced visibility makes it harder to see young riders, so please use extra caution during the morning commute.

Let's work together to ensure every student arrives at school safely. A few extra precautions can make all the difference.

Stay alert, be visible, and ride safely!

Good afternoon Kingsland,

The Kingsland Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying three males, possibly juveniles, involved in a series of vehicle break-ins reported during the evening of October 20, 2026 and the morning of October 21st.

The individuals, who were wearing hoodies and masks, were observed at multiple locations near Camden Middle School and the Lakeside subdivision. Home security footage shows the individuals checking vehicles to see if they were unlocked. When they found unlocked vehicles, they entered them and searched for items to steal.

During one of these incidents, surveillance footage captured one of the individuals stealing a loaded fi***rm from a pickup truck and concealing it inside his hoodie. The individual wearing a black hoodie with a distinctive “True Religion” logo is believed to be the person who took the fi***rm. This distinctive clothing may assist in identifying him.

We are asking anyone who recognizes these individuals or has information regarding these incidents or the location of the stolen fi***rm to contact the Kingsland Police Department at (912) 729-8254 and ask to speak with Investigator Sergeant Gonzalez.

Our primary concern is identifying those responsible, recovering the stolen fi***rm, and preventing it from potentially being used in another crime.

This post is not intended to criticize or place blame on the vehicle or fi***rm owner. We are seeking the community’s assistance in identifying the individuals involved and recovering the stolen fi***rm before it can cause harm.

If you have any information, please contact us. Even the smallest detail could make a difference.

Thank you for your continued support and assistance in keeping our community safe.

PUBLIC SAFETY WARNING: ILLEGAL STREET / TEEN TAKEOVER

The Kingsland Police Department is warning teens, young drivers, and parents about reports of a rumored illegal street takeover planned for this weekend.

To avoid increasing the event's popularity, we will NOT release the location, date, or time. Our department will have additional units in the area, with assistance from neighboring agencies.

THIS IS NOT A GAME. PEOPLE CAN BE SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED.

Illegal takeovers put participants, spectators, and innocent motorists at risk. These events will not be taken lightly. Depending on the conduct involved, potential charges may include:

▪️ Inciting to Riot – O.C.G.A. § 16-11-31
▪️ Disorderly Conduct – O.C.G.A. § 16-11-39
▪️ Criminal Trespass – O.C.G.A. § 16-7-21
▪️ Obstruction of Law Enforcement – O.C.G.A. § 16-10-24
▪️ Racing on Highways or Streets – O.C.G.A. § 40-6-186
▪️ Reckless Stunt Driving – O.C.G.A. § 40-6-390.1
▪️ Promoting or Organizing Illegal Drag-Racing Exhibitions – O.C.G.A. § 16-11-43.1(a)
▪️ Actively Facilitating Illegal Drag-Racing Exhibitions – O.C.G.A. § 16-11-43.1(b)
▪️ Laying Drags – O.C.G.A. § 40-6-251
▪️ Other applicable reckless driving and traffic violations can/ will be added accordingly.

Spectators, organizers, and facilitators: Think twice. Simply being present is not automatically a crime, but actively promoting, organizing, or facilitating illegal activities can carry serious consequences.

EXPECT ENFORCEMENT ACTION. Arrests will be made when warranted, and vehicles may be towed as authorized by law.

PARENTS: PLEASE TALK TO YOUR TEENS. Make sure they understand the risks and consequences. Driving is a privilege, and one reckless decision can change lives forever.

Our goal is to prevent a tragedy before it happens.

DO NOT ATTEND. DO NOT PARTICIPATE. DO NOT PUT LIVES AT RISK.

The Kingsland Police Department is committed to keeping our community and roadways safe.
