In this segment, learn how United Way of Greater Kingsport and the The Salvation Army of Greater Kingsport Tennessee partnered to help a father of a 15-month-old son secure housing and address other challenges, including repairing his vehicle.

A Kingsport father who was struggling to afford housing found help through the United Way of Greater Kingsport and the Salvation Army.

The Elizabethton Senior Center of Carter County is providing more than meals for older adults, offering a place to socialize, access resources and find help when needed.

The United Way of East TN Highlands has supported the center for years, helping fund programs and daily operations.

United Way of Hawkins County’s Stepping Toward a Better Tomorrow program provides Hawkins County residents with up to two pairs of shoes each year. Since launching in July, it has served about 400 people.

In addition to the shoe program, the United Way of Hawkins County provides financial support to 12 local nonprofits, helping them continue services for people in the community.

One of those organizations is CASA for Kids, Inc., which trains volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in juvenile court.

The United Way of Hawkins County helps the community in several ways.
