Thanks to President Trump restoring order at the border, reinforced by the historic border security investments in the Working Families Tax Cuts, we have seen 17 straight months of ZERO releases at the border.

But we cannot take this progress for granted. As President Trump has pointed out, the riots in France are a warning of what happens when a nation fails to control illegal immigration and enforce its own laws. For years, European leaders looked the other way, and their citizens are now paying the price. America must not make the same mistake.

A secure border, strong law enforcement, and consistent enforcement of the laws already on the books are what keep our communities safe. I’m grateful to President Trump and the men and women of ICE and Border Patrol for their work, and I’ll continue supporting policies in Congress that keep our border secure.

Washington has banned home distilling since 1868. Now the Supreme Court is taking a look.

Congress doesn't have to wait on the courts. My Freedom to Home Distill Act ends the ban on home distilling for personal use.

It's that simple!

The Supreme Court will decide later this term whether a long-standing ban on home distilling of alcohol is constitutional.

What a beautiful morning at the White House Rose Garden! 🇺🇸

Proud to join President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and other administration officials for the signing of an executive order on advancing women’s health.

Today’s action will create a Women's Health Division at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to expand research into understudied conditions and speed the translation of discoveries into clinical practice. It will also establish the White House Women’s Health Task Force to work with states, faith-based organizations, and the private sector to put it into practice.

It is abundantly clear that the Trump administration has made women’s health a priority at the highest levels, and today's executive order is yet another game changer for women and girls across America.

I enjoyed spending the day in Greene County! It was great to meet newly elected Sheriff David Beverly and Mayor Kevin Morrison. Local leaders know what’s best for their communities far better than any bureaucrat in Washington, and I appreciate their work to keep Greene County running strong for the wonderful people who call it home.

Before heading out, I stopped by The Sewing Bee, a veteran-owned and woman-owned small business. Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome and for all you do to serve and strengthen Greene County!

It was great to tour Universal Machine & Tool Co., Inc. in Kingsport and see American manufacturing at its finest! Their workforce is second to none, and good-paying manufacturing jobs like these are the backbone of our local economy.

President Trump is bringing manufacturing back to America, and the Working Families Tax Cuts I supported make full expensing permanent. That means shops like this can write off the full cost of new machinery and equipment the year they buy it, freeing up money to invest, grow, and hire right here at home.

I had a great time stopping by Baker’s Shoe Repair & Saddle Shop in downtown Erwin! Owner Tony Baker is a veteran who served our country, and today he keeps a time-honored trade alive right here in Unicoi County.

Businesses like Baker’s are the heart of our Main Streets. That’s why I was proud to support the Working Families Tax Cuts, which made the lower tax rates permanent and locked in the 20 percent small business deduction. This will help small business owners like Tony keep more of what they earn and reinvest it in their shops and their communities.

It was wonderful to visit ETSU Health’s Johnson City Community Health Center and see the incredible work their practitioners are doing for families across our community.

These nurse-managed clinics care for everyone from newborns to seniors. That includes primary care, prenatal care, behavioral health, dental, pharmacy services, and diabetes management, all under one roof. Most importantly, no one is turned away because they can’t pay.

Community health centers like this one are the front line in the fight against chronic disease. That’s why I introduced legislation to bring evidence-based nutrition counseling into primary care at community health centers. The best prescription is the one you never have to write, and I was proud to see my bill advance through the Energy & Commerce Health Subcommittee this summer.
