NATIONAL CREAM-FILLED DONUT DAY

Last week was heavy on all of us, so we thought we would bring some lightheartedness back around. Today is National Cream-Filled Donut Day. Go get yourself one (or a dozen). As you can see, Officer Brostowin doesn’t look too thrilled with his boring glazed option and, quite frankly, we don’t blame him.

Today, we proudly join the nation in recognizing National Policewoman Day — honoring the courageous women who wear the badge and serve our communities with strength, compassion, and dedication.

To KSPD’s one and only female Officer, as well as the female Deputies serving Cheatham County, we thank you all for your unwavering commitment to protecting and serving our community.

Please join us in thanking the women of law enforcement today — and every day!

Be kind to each other. Not just today, but every day. Not because of a certain date or event that took place, but because kindness prevails over evil.

Thank someone today. Thank a Police Officer, a Firefighter, a Veteran, an active service member, the EMTs and Paramedics that are there every time you need them. Thank those that serve behind the scenes and in alternate areas that don’t get recognition - your 911 dispatchers, wrecker drivers, and road crews. Thank your fellow American.

DON’T forget. Don’t forget the tragedy but, more so, don’t forget how everyone banned together and loved one another. Helped each other. Protected each other.

Be a good person. Don’t judge people because of differences - embrace them. Those differences are what make us individuals. Those differences are what make each of us unique.

Tell people you love them today and every day hereafter. Don’t be afraid to love. Love is all we take with us when we leave this world. After all, tomorrow is never guaranteed.

On this night, September 10, 2001 ... 25 years ago:

246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights.

2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning.

343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift.

60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol.

8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift.

None of them saw past 11am on September 11, 2001.

In one single moment, life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted.

KSES Parents,

Children remain outside for recess each day until 2:40 PM. For their safety, car rider traffic may not enter KSES property before 2:40 PM.

DO NOT arrive at the school before 2:40 PM.
DO NOT park on W.K.S. Road.

Effective immediately, we will issue citations to vehicles parked along the roadway. An illegal parking citation carries a $50 fine plus $150 in court costs, for a total of $200.

Please help us keep our students safe and traffic moving by arriving no earlier than 2:40 PM and remaining off the roadway.

Thank you for your cooperation.
