Halloween is almost here, but nothing is scarier than a driver who isn’t even looking at the road. 📵☠️

Tennessee is a “hands-free” state. That means it is illegal for drivers to hold a cell phone or mobile device with ANY part of their body. Violation of this law can result in points on your driving record.

I want to extend a sincere thank you to Hamilton County Sheriff's Office - TN Sheriff Austin Garrett for inviting me, along with fellow sheriffs from across Tennessee, to meet with U.S. Senator Bill Hagerty.

This was a great opportunity to discuss the challenges facing law enforcement today and share the concerns and needs of the communities we serve.

I especially want to thank Senator Hagerty for taking time out of his busy schedule to sit down with Tennessee’s elected sheriffs, listen to our concerns, and discuss the issues impacting public safety.

I appreciate Sheriff Garrett for bringing us together and Senator Hagerty for recognizing the importance of hearing directly from those serving on the front lines of law enforcement.

Working together, we can continue making our communities safer and stronger.

The scariest part of Halloween should be the
haunted house, not your drive back from the party..
Play it safe Roane County and plan a sober ride BEFORE the party starts.
