Today was another opportunity for KGLA scholars to truly experience learning beyond the classroom within the classroom. Ms. Easterling opened her doors to partner with the Governor’s School of Science and Mathematics, allowing her students to explore Power Plants & Protection: AI in Security.

Students explored power plants and their importance. Scholars were able to explore select footage and analyze it to determine if security personnel needed to be notified. Students were introduced to a security algorithm that they would later utilize when exploring other pieces of footage. The algorithm led students to determine if no action was needed or security officials needed to be alerted.
The reflection activity revealed that the students thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Thank you again Ms. Easterling for bridging the learning gap through opportunities like these. Thank you to the South Carolina Governor’s School of Science and Mathematics.
