Next is our SWAT Unit which is comprised of a SWAT Commander, 2 team leaders, 8 operators, 2 sniper/spotters and in conjunction with the Kingsville Fire Department 4 tactical medics. Our SWAT unit trains weekly for four hours as required by National Tactical Officers Association. This unit is currently comprised of a Corporal, three patrol officers and a senior detective. This unit is responsible for the identification and tracking of citizens who have chosen to follow the gang lifestyle. In closing I want to assure the citizens of our community that we have professional, dedicated men and women at our department who are dedicated to provide an improved quality of life and a safe environment for them and their children.
