Practice reading aloud in English with other adult learners this summer on Thursday mornings in June and July.
Focus is on pronunciation, fluency, and confidence through shared reading in a supportive library setting.
For adults who can read in English and have some language experience; not for beginning learners.

These orientation sessions will introduce participants to the specific maker machines in the library. Those who complete the class will then be able to request time to use the machine at HCPL branches, at which time they will complete a short machine-specific orientation at the location of their choice. Attending this orientation is mandatory before patrons can request time to use a machine.
This event is open to those ages 13 and older. Teens under the age of 16 muse be accompanied by an adult guardian.
Online registration opens one week before the class at 10:00 am.

Read Against the Machine! is a nonfiction book club exploring social, cultural, historical, and political topics. Selections highlight varied perspectives and encourage readers to think critically about the ideas and narratives that shape contemporary life.
