A Heat Advisory is in effect for the next few days, and we want pet owners and pets to stay safe in this heat!

🐾Pets retain heat differently than humans, so it’s important to watch out for excessive panting, weakness, and red gums. All of these can be signs of dehydration and heatstroke.

🐾Don’t ever leave your pet in a parked hot vehicle.
🐾Just 10 minutes inside a vehicle can be dangerous for people and pets.
🐾Avoid walking your dogs or taking out your pets in the hottest parts of the day.
🐾Check the pavement with the back of your hand to see if it’s too hot for them to safely walk on.

If you suspect your pet is experiencing a heatstroke, call your local emergency veterinarian immediately.
