The Osceola County Sheriff's Office was proud to be at the Student Night of Hospitality with members of the Moroccan community and representatives from the Embassy of Morocco. Our deputies had a great time getting to know the community, talking, and building relationships. We really appreciate the warm welcome and hospitality of the organizers, which is exactly the type of thing that brings our community together.

Our ICAC team investigates online child exploitation, identifies those who possess and distribute child sexual abuse material, and brings perpetrators to justice.

Yesterday, Sheriff Christopher A. Blackmon and members of our ICAC team joined Attorney General James Uthmeier at a press conference to announce 100 felony charges against Jerry Jesus Reyes of Kissimmee following an ICAC investigation.

The investigation revealed disturbing material on his device, including child sexual abuse material and videos of animal sexual abuse. Sheriff Blackmon emphasized the need for all of us to understand the risks children face online and to be actively involved in their online lives.

We want to recognize and applaud our ICAC investigators for their hard work, tenacity, and dedication to protecting children and bringing exploiters to justice.

Statement from Sheriff Chris Blackmon

October 27, 2026. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office operates under a single standard of equal accountability. The badge represents the public trust, and no one is above the law—especially those sworn to enforce it.

Following a thorough investigation, an Osceola County deputy was arrested today and charged with battery on an individual 65 years of age or older, as well as falsification of official records. This conduct is completely intolerable. Just as our agency acted decisively and without hesitation to hold eleven students accountable for their criminal actions in our schools earlier last week, we apply that exact same standard within our own walls.

Accountability is not selective. If we demand lawfulness and responsibility from the youth of this community, we must demand an even higher level of integrity from the men and women who wear our uniform. Falsifying documents and harming vulnerable citizens strikes directly at the foundation of our justice system.

The deputy involved has been immediately relieved of duty pending formal termination proceedings, and we are working directly with the State Attorney’s Office on this prosecution. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office remains uncompromising in our pursuit of justice, whether the wrongdoing occurs in our classrooms or from behind a badge.

Chris Blackmon - Osceola County Sheriff's Office

🚨🚨MOTHER ARRESTED AFTER LEAVING 4 CHILDREN HOME ALONE TO TRAVEL TO LAS VEGAS🚨🚨

Just after 8:30 pm on October 21, 2026, OCSO received a 911 call from a juvenile that her 9-year-old brother had been injured by a dumbbell that fell on his head. Deputies responded to 3028 Parkway Blvd. There were no adults present in the home where four children, ages 14, 12, 11, and 9, were left unsupervised. Fire Rescue responded and transported the 9-year-old male to Celebration Hospital for treatment.

The responding deputy contacted the children’s mother, Irene Miller, by phone. She told the deputy that she was working in Las Vegas and would return on October 23, 2026. Deputies learned that Mrs. Miller had left for Las Vegas on October 18, 2026. She told deputies that she had a babysitter coming from Tampa in the mornings to get the children ready for school and to check on them after school, but she did not require her to stay the night.

The 9-year-old child was treated, discharged from the hospital, and returned home. The children's father was contacted and agreed to take all four children to his residence. Detectives with OCSO made plans to meet Irene Miller as she exited her flight from Las Vegas on Friday morning.

On October 23, 2026, OCSO detectives met with the mother and then arrested Irene Miller, 50, Kissimmee, for 4 counts of Child Neglect without Great Bodily Harm. She was booked into the Orange County jail.

“The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office will not tolerate child neglect. These cases will be investigated, and charges will be brought against the parents who are not properly supervising or caring for their children,” said Sheriff Chris Blackmon.
