KITTERY Residents and Businesses:
A SCAM ALERT

The Town of Kittery has been made aware of fraudulent emails in which individuals impersonate Town employees and ask recipients to complete wire transfers or send money. These emails are SCAMS.

How to Protect Yourself
• The Town of Kittery will never request a wire transfer.
• Check the sender's email address carefully. Official Town Hall employee email addresses typically end in .org. Be cautious of addresses that include additional text after this domain, such as .[email protected].
• Do not respond to suspicious emails. Avoid clicking links, opening attachments, or sending money.
• Report and delete suspicious messages. Use your email provider's phishing-reporting feature.
• Verify before taking action. If you receive an email claiming to be from the Town of Kittery and are unsure whether it is legitimate, contact the appropriate department using the phone number or contact information listed on the Town's official website: Kitteryme.gov

Please help protect our community by sharing this information with family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. Staying vigilant is one of the best ways to prevent scams.
