YOUR Library Board of Trustees had an enlightening and educational day attending Governing for Impact: A Master Class for Washington Library Trustees hosted by Washington State Library and led by John Chrastka, the Executive Director at EveryLibrary. The class was held on the beautiful campus of Central Washington University. We can’t wait to implement what we learned to help serve our Kittitas community.

If you’re wondering about ways to help our beloved community library through this transition here are a couple of meaningful suggestions:

1.) Get a library card and USE it. Card usage is the number one factor both the City and County consider when approving yearly budgets. Our City goal is to serve 10 percent of our residents, we are currently at 5 percent.

2.) If you are able, make a donation to Friends of the Kittitas Gilmour Memorial Library to be used towards rent and operating expenses in our temporary location. Their Venmo is ://www.venmo.com/u/FriendsofTheKittitasLibrary

3.) Attend a City Council meeting to show your support. They are held at 6pm at City Hall on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month.
