Fire Prevention week is underway!

Members spent the day at the Knox Elementary School teaching students about ways to prevent a fire and what to do in case they’re in a fire. We encourage everyone to have a fire preparedness plan that includes exit paths and a meeting location in the event of a fire in your home. We also strongly encourage everyone to have working smoke detectors properly installed in your home. If you have any questions, please reach out to your local fire department for more information.

We would like to give a huge thank you to the Knox School System, primarily the Elementary School staff for allowing us to engage with the students today.

Yesterday evening, June 20, the Knox-Center Twp. Fire Department responded to assist the North Judson-Wayne Twp. Fire Department with a residential structure fire. Pursuant to our Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) agreement, Truck 10, Tanker 10, and Chief 10 responded. First arriving units encountered heavy fire conditions from the Alpha side (front) of the structure and promptly initiated fire suppression efforts. Truck 10 conducted primary searches and provided assistance with overhaul operations. We take pride in serving the citizens of Knox, Center, and Jackson Townships, as well as our mutual aid communities.
