We are a week out from election day. You still have the opportunity to vote early today, tomorrow, and on Saturday. You can vote early at any of the early voting locations throughout Knox County. Polls are still open for early voting, but time is running out. This ongoing election is the general election for numerous important local government positions including County Mayor, County Commission, School Board, Trustee, and of course General Sessions Court Judge. If you wait to vote until November, it will be too late to have any say in these important local elections. Early voting runs through August 1st, and election day is August 6th. If you vote early, you can vote at any of the locations listed in the image below. If you wait to vote until election day, you will need to vote at your precinct. As I was door knocking in South Knoxville yesterday, I stopped for a moment to appreciate the beauty that was surrounding me, and I took the first two photos below. As an avid hiker, I have hiked in beautiful locations throughout our region including Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area, and numerous state parks. However, some of the most beautiful places I have hiked in our region have been right here in Knox County, including House Mountain State Natural Area, Seven Islands State Birding Park, and Ijams Nature Center. Below are just a few photos from some of my walks/hikes in beautiful Knox County. We are truly blessed to live in a such a beautiful place. Happy Sunday everyone!
