Congratulations to another member of the University of Tennessee Police Department for being recognized today during the East Tennessee Crisis Intervention Team Graduation Ceremony.
Crisis Intervention Teams (CIT) are local initiatives designed to improve the way law enforcement and the community respond to people experiencing behavioral health crises. The collaboration between advocates, law enforcement and mental health systems have saved lives and foster links for people who need treatment and help.

Congratulations to all the graduates.

We’re excited to welcome nine participants representing a diverse cross-section of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville campus community to our UTPD Citizen’s Academy.
In this first session, our campus partners had the opportunity to hear from members of our command staff and Community Relations Unit and even got hands-on with a fingerprinting activity. They even got a demonstration from members of our K9 Unit.
We’re looking forward to the next installment and continuing to build strong connections through this engaging program!
