I was honored to attend the annual State of the City address alongside my Command Staff today, where Mayor Indya Kincannon announced the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
Mayor Kincannon's budget proposal includes funding to expand the size of our department, provide raises for our officers and build an amazing fitness center at the Public Safety Complex.
We appreciate the steadfast support that Mayor Kincannon has shown our department and employees. Her investments in our organization and the health and wellbeing of our employees demonstrate her commitment to make Knoxville one of the safest cities in the country.

I enjoyed stopping by West Hills Elementary this morning to support their read-a-thon initiative with a book reading during morning announcements!
I have been an avid reader my entire life, and that has had a profound impact on me personally and professionally. I am grateful to play a small part in inspiring a lifelong love of reading.

Big thanks to my cajun brother Tim Willis and the Walk-On's krewe for providing the gumbo, étouffée, and french bread for our staff. Adding a little Louisiana spice to an ice storm is the perfect way to warm things up!

I am so grateful for the men and women of our department who will be keeping us safe during this weather event. A big thanks to Councilmember Denzel Grant for visiting our roll call this morning and thanking our officers. We don’t get many visitors at our 6 am roll call, so the gesture was truly appreciated.
Please check on your neighbors and stay off the roads if possible this weekend Stay safe, Knoxville!

Knoxville is safer today because of the men and women of
Knoxville Police Department - TN. Their attention to detail drove down murders by 26% and shootings by 27% this past year. Thank you to
Mayor Indya Kincannon and our city partners for the unwavering support. Together, we’re making a difference.

If you drink, don't drive. Call a rideshare, or crash on a couch. Let’s keep the roads safe tonight! Drive safe Knoxville!
Let's start off 2026 right by making it our goal to never drink and drive and always plan for a sober ride home.

I joined Metropolitan Nashville Police Department Chief Drake and Louisville Metro Police Department Chief Humphrey for a leadership panel to close out the inaugural Tri-City Police Leadership Academy today in Nashville.
This three-week program featured extensive executive-level training, representing a significant investment in the future leaders of our profession.
Thanks to everyone who brought this vision to life. Planning is already underway for the next session of the Tri-City PLA in 2026!
