Stressed out about your taxes? Never fear, Tax Aide can help!
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide will have a tax preparation site at Pellissippi State’s Hardin Valley Campus Library this year. Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest free volunteer tax preparation service, offered in conjunction with the Internal Revenue Service. Tax-Aide serves over 2 million people each year.
Tax preparation assistance will be offered on Saturdays in ER 120 (near the Testing Center) beginning February 10, with hours from 9 am – 2 pm. Services are available to taxpayers of all ages and backgrounds. The volunteers are certified to do all the forms most taxpayers need, but, in some cases, they cannot do the return because it exceeds the scope of their training. AARP membership is not required.
Tax returns will be filed electronically, speeding up the processing and the arrival of any refund.
Appointments are required. Visit volsintax.com to make an appointment or call 865-229-4429 and leave a message for the appointment volunteers. For information on what to bring to your appointment and information about what Tax Aide volunteers can process, please visit: volsintax.com/pellissippi-state. Appointments are available at Pellissippi State or one of the other sites in Knox County, Clinton, or LaFollette.
