Our Story
The Halls Business and Professional Association is a group of business owners, professionals, educators and community individuals that live and/or work in the Halls-Crossroads Community in Knox County, Tennessee. We strive to promote a better quality of life to all that live, work or learn in our community. We accomplish this through developing business and personal relationships and communicating what is important to our business and government representatives.
To get involved with our association is easy. We meet for lunch at Beaver Brook Country Club at noon on the third Tuesday of the month, except for December. Lunch is provided for $12.00, if you’d like to eat.
The Halls Business and Professional Association and its officers and members are committed to the enrichment of the Halls community and its residents through the promotion of businesses in the area. The organization is committed to maintaining a clean and inviting atmosphere for our customers and families to enjoy. The group also provides ongoing assistance to the six schools in the Halls community through its Partners in Education program. Also, HBPA partners with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office to conduct a roadside cleanup the first week of each month.

Halls Crossroads Information
The historical community of Halls Crossroads is an unincorporated area located in North Knox County, immediately north of the city limits of Knoxville. The “crossroads” of Emory Road and Maynardville Highway generally associated with the Halls name are positioned to the north of the Halls business district. Halls is bordered by the communities of Fountain City to the south, Powell to the west, Gibbs to the east, and Union County to the north.
The Halls community is served by six public Knox County schools, i.e., Adrian Burnett Elementary, Brickey McCloud Elementary, Copper Ridge Elementary, Halls Elementary, Halls Middle, and Halls High Schools.
Historical “Halls Crossroads” is named for Thomas Hall (1758-1833) who moved to the area in 1796 from North Carolina. Mr. Hall distinguished himself while fighting for his country in the Revolutionary War when he was captured and imprisoned by the British at the Siege of Charleston. For his service, the United States government awarded him a parcel of land on the north side of Black Oak Ridge which is today part of the Halls community. The historical Thomas Hall Cemetery is located off Rifle Range Road, near the intersection of Maynardville Highway. Today, descendants of Thomas Hall continue to live and reside in the Halls community.
