Thinking of Mustang Sally. Sadly, for those who dont know, she got Sidewinder syndrome just a couple of weeks after Scout passed. I had to put her down and Belle , the pig was n ot doing well at all so we decided to let them rest together. AS they say, When it Rains it Pours. But i know the God has a plan and i believe it may be easier this way............like pulling a band aid off FAST.
We got her when she was 5 and pregnant. PRINCESS horse for sure. She hated the bugs, hated the rain dripping down her legs, Hated the mud....moody when in heat and the worst FLIRT around. but let me tell you she was the BEST GUIDE horse around. Listened and calm even when the other horses took off fast. her immune system was poor and her last few years she had her issues but was still teaching riders in the ring and doing a great job at it.
Traveler called and called and looked and looked for her....They had been sweethearts for 20 years! He is ok now, hanging out with Sky.
Would love to hear any memories that you may have of Sally and /or Scout. I have been sooo blessed by God to have had so many amazing horses in my life. I could never have run the trail business without them. They have touched so many lives over the years and i will be forever grateful for the memories and the HEART that they put out everyday.
