Y-12 National Security Complex

On June 6, 1944, D-Day brought together the land, air, and sea forces of the Allies in what would be the largest amphibious invasion in history. Today, we are reminded of the significance of our mission.

Team CNS participated in the 2026 Downtown Dash to benefit Blount Memorial Foundation's Cancer Patient Resource Fund, which helps patients undergoing treatment with everyday expenses so they can focus on healing. CNS was also a sponsor of the event.

Y-12 recently completed Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 uranium castings for Naval Reactors ahead of schedule and under budget. This achievement ensures the continuous supply of vital enriched uranium feedstock for the U.S. Navy’s nuclear-powered ships, a cornerstone of America’s defense capabilities.

Matt B. didn’t know a lot about Y-12 before joining the UPF Project more than a year ago, but was impressed that safety was a big focus. Now, as a 2nd-year Ironworker apprentice, he has a sense of accomplishment.

Here's a cool update! Permanent heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) Project’s Main Process Building and Salvage and Accountability Building have been powered up just in time for Summer. UPF has more than 1.8 million pounds of HVAC ductwork.

Martin Williamson, CNS senior director of Global Security and Strategic Partnerships, moderated a panel on “Ensuring America’s National Security” on day 2 of the Tennessee Valley Corridor National Summit. CNS Vice President of Mission Ex*****on Reed Mullins contributed to the discussion as a panelist.

CNS President and CEO Rich Tighe hosted a session on “Leading America’s Nuclear Renaissance” at the Tennessee Valley Corridor National Summit. The session included panel discussions and presentations as well as keynote remarks by U.S. Energy Deputy Secretary James Danly.

CNS is a sponsor of the annual Tennessee Valley Corridor National Summit in Chattanooga. Y-12’s booth features the site’s national security missions, including a focus on our expanding global security work.
