Our free workshops are a great way to learn how you can reduce your energy and water usage!

We recently went out to the Strawberry Plains Senior Center to show customers how simple things like pausing before you adjust your thermostat or adding weather stripping around your door can add up to real savings. Just one degree change on your thermostat can save up to 3% on your bill over time!

You can request a free workshop at kub.org/outreach. In case you can't make it to a workshop, we also have more savings tips at kub.org/tips

As part of KUB’s mission to provide reliable utility services, our President and CEO Gabe Bolas regularly visits with employees to see firsthand how they are serving customers across the community. He recently caught up with our overhead construction crews, who have been busy setting electric meters and establishing electric service for new homes and businesses.

As the Knoxville area continues to grow, these crews play an important role in supporting new customer growth while ensuring existing customers continue to receive the same level of service and quality they expect.

We love our trees here in East Tennessee, and that’s why we emphasize tree health in our pruning practices.

Nick Bridgeman is a utility forester with 15 years of experience in public utilities.

He shares how KUB works with customers to remove hazardous trees and resources for customers to learn where to plant to avoid service interruptions. This work can make a real difference, since trees and other vegetation cause more than half of KUB’s electric outages.

You can learn more at kub.org/plantsmart.

From power line safety to energy conservation, this Girl Scout troop got an inside look at how electricity powers our community! We loved seeing their excitement and curiosity throughout the power line demo and workshop. Each Girl Scout even went home with a new KUB badge! Girl Scouts of the Southern Appalachians
