If you are interested in getting more information about family farm transition planning, there is an upcoming opportunity on Thursday, November 5th, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. The free dinner and program will take place at the Airport Hilton Hotel on Alcoa Highway. Specialists from the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture, Tennessee Farm Bureau, and the private sector will be present to give information and answer questions.

Attendees will be provided a resource packet at the conclusion of the program, and will receive a new publication when it is released in early 2027. Registration is required- please scan the QR code on the flyer, call the Blount County Extension office at 865-982-6430 ext 5, or email [email protected] . The deadline to register is Monday, October 26th for the meal count. Driving and parking instructions will be sent to registrants. Are you interested in becoming a Master Gardener? Sign up for our 2027 Master Gardener training! Training dates are January 12-April 27, with graduation in May. Classes are from 6:00-9:00 p.m. (with some exceptions), and will take place at our Eastern Region Office-1801 Downtown West Blvd. Knoxville, TN. 37919.

After completing the training, 40 volunteer hours, and 8 continuing education units, you will become a Certified Master Gardener!

On Monday, September 14th, please join us for an Agriculture Grants and Contracts Meeting at UT Extension Eastern Region Office, 1801 Downtown West Blvd., Knoxville, TN. 37919.

A light meal of sandwiches will be provided, so please be sure to register no later than end of business day on Thursday, September 10th so that there is an accurate count for food.
