We are now accepting applications for our School Nutrition Manager Trainee Program.

Minimum annual salary: $28,882.56

Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Complete daily paperwork, including production records.
- Order and receive food and supply deliveries.
- Follow daily districtwide menus.
- Supervise daily food production.
- Oversee breakfast and lunch service.
- Ensure safety rules and proper equipment operating procedures are followed.

Qualifications include:
- High school diploma or GED
- School Nutrition experience or food service management experience

The Secret Ingredient: The Greatest Lunch

Join us for the “Greatest Show on Earth” as we celebrate National School Lunch Week 2026!

This year’s theme, “Cafeteria Circus: Where Healthy Choices Take Center Stage,” is all about celebrating the role a healthy school lunch can play in helping students succeed both in and out of the classroom.

And really, a circus is more than a theme. It’s an experience. It creates excitement, sparks curiosity and turns an ordinary day into something students look forward to. That’s the spirit behind this year’s celebration—making the cafeteria feel like more than just another stop in the school day.

Our systemwide menus are packed with student favorites like chicken nuggets, nachos and burgers, along with plenty of colorful fruits and vegetables taking center stage on our serving lines.

School lunch has a long history, too. The National School Lunch Program became federal law in 1946, and National School Lunch Week has been celebrated each October for decades as a way to recognize the importance of school meals.

This year, we’ve heard a lot of positive feedback from students about some of the changes we’ve made to lunch. New Sister Schubert’s rolls have been a hit, and our monthly manager’s choice pizza day has answered one of their biggest requests—more pizza.

Of course, none of it happens without our cafeteria teams.

Every school day, they’re juggling a little bit of everything—preparing meals, serving students, making macaroni and cheese from scratch, washing dishes, keeping kitchens running and deep cleaning our 90 cafeterias. There’s a lot happening behind the scenes before a tray ever reaches the serving line, and we’re incredibly thankful for the work they do.

If you have a student who hasn’t tried school lunch lately, National School Lunch Week is a great time to step right up, grab a tray and see what’s under the big top.
