Reposted from a friend and colleague. Couldn’t say it better myself :
As we approach the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, I wanted to thank those in my blue family, our partners in Fire Department, EMS, military, sanitation and civilians that served that day and the months that followed . The images of that day and of those we lost will forever be part of me. The suffering of so many friends with 9/11 illnesses is unimaginable. We share a bond from that day, and we share a fear that no matter how much time passes, the sickness that that day caused will catch up to us; it has for me.
To all those there that day and to all that served in any capacity, I send my love.
Never forget……

Written by a friend and colleague:

The world changed the day of 9/11 and we have all become different people because of it. I can only hope that on this anniversary we will continue to honor those people lost, those who remain among us, and those lost through illness, post traumatic stress or other scars of that day. We continue to lose people almost daily from that evil cancer that affects almost all of us, and that is what some have forgotten or do not see. God Bless and God bless this great Republic

First IV Chemotherapy appointment went well today.

So if you want hear something insane. I need to take this medication for the rest of my life to stay alive. $15,000 a month. In fact it’s so expensive you can’t even get it at the pharmacy. The doctor has a foundation to underwrite the cost for his patients, but we make to much money. We make a decent joint income, but nor even close to what this one medication costs for a year. I really don’t understand how we can make to much money when this one medicine,(I need another as well) costs $180,000 a year by it self. Just saying? Got a free sample for my first month. Really hope insurance will cover it.🤷🏼‍♂️🙏

After 46 years in public service (24 in Law Enforcement and 22 Teaching ), I feel comfortable in the knowledge that whenever it’s my time to go I left the planet in better shape than when I was born.
