The Black Cultural Programming Committee at the University of Tennessee was established in 1979 by the Office of the Dean of Students

The primary goal of the committee is to stimulate and increase the knowledge of African-American culture and its contributions to the progress of American society and in so doing foster an atmosphere for UNITY.

Black History Month? How about Black History EVERY month! Join BCPC this Monday, March 28th 7pm at the Frieson Black Cultural Center for our annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Celebration featuring Sheyann Webb Christburg. She was the youngest civil rights activist to march in Bloody Sunday alongside MLKJ in Birmingham, AL. Can't wait to see you all there!

Be sure to join us Friday, February 26, for the Black History Month Gala and the African American Image Awards. This semi-formal event will take place at John 23rd with the reception beginning at 6:30 pm. This year's guest will be Dr. Terrence Roberts, who's infamously known as one of the Little Rock Nine from Little Rock Arkansas. Following Dr. Robert's presentation, we will have the African American Image Awards hosted by the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
