There is nothing more important to us than keeping Knox County's seniors safe and well in their homes. We are grateful to help pilot initiatives like SafeSeniorTN that allow older adults to remain informed and empowered in combatting the growing issue of scams and elder abuse. Did you know that college students help us deliver as many as 30-40 Mobile Meals routes every week during the fall and spring semester? Casey's helped us thank our amazing student vols this month, donating 20 free large pizza certificates for them to enjoy 🍕

Meet our final Pilot Flying J winner, David! He had been delivering for an incredible 18 years, focusing his efforts on homebound seniors in Fountain City. We are so grateful for his long-time support of our program, and we’re excited to have the opportunity to recognize him!

Thanks for a month of fun, Pilot 🤍⛽️🤍

"Our daughter loves Mr. P on our route. Last time she brought a baby doll to show him, and this week she dressed in her squishmallow dress with a squishmallow that matches. I have no clue what this quiet man thinks when a little girl chose him as her favorite!"

As summer break quickly approaches, consider volunteering for Mobile Meals as a family. Our young people who volunteer make such a difference to those they visit, and they definitely know how to keep things fun 🌞

Shoutout to Sparkling Image Car Wash for showing our volunteers and their vehicles some love during National Volunteer Month! They donated 300 car wash coupons, and we’ve been handing them out all week to vols at our pickup locations.

Thanks, Sparkling Image, for helping us recognize the people that make Mobile Meals possible every day 🤍 🚗

This Wednesday, join us in honoring the life and legacy of long-time Mobile Meals volunteer, Sterling “Silver” King, and dedicating Silver's Circle at the Mobile Meals Kitchen.

A familiar face to so many volunteers, Silver gave 13 years of steady, selfless service to Mobile Meals. Not only was he there every weekday loading coolers for his fellow volunteers, but he also impacted the lives of countless homebound seniors across Knox County by delivering meals on any route that needed a willing volunteer. This dedication is a small way for us to recognize his lasting impact on our program.
