The purpose of the Police Advisory and Review Committee (PARC) is to strengthen the relationship between the members of the Knoxville Police Department and the citizens they serve through an independent review of police actions. PARC reviews incidents involving police action following the conclusion of the Internal Affairs investigations. Citizens can either register formal or anonymous complaints

Congratulations and thank you to the graduates of the 67th session of KPD’s Community Police Academy. These engaged individuals have spent the past 10 weeks meeting with representatives from across our department and learning all about our operations and practices.

We appreciate each of these graduates for spending their time to connect with us and gain valuable insight into our efforts to keep the community safe.

Residents of West Knoxville neighborhoods, from Western Heights and Lonsdale to Bearden, Sutherland Avenue, Deane Hill, Westwood, etc, are invited to attend Knoxville Police Department - TN's next West District Commander Forum on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at the Public Works Service Center, 3131 Morris Avenue.

The next meeting of the Knoxville Police Advisory and Review Committee is on Thursday, April 23, 6-8 p.m. at Larry Cox Senior Center. Committee members will review cases received in the first quarter (January, February and March) of 2026. The January meeting is available to view on YouTube; thanks to Knoxville Community Media for providing the coverage.

Residents of Knoxville's westerly neighborhoods are invited to attend Knoxville Police Department's West District Commander meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 5:30-7:30pm at Holiday Inn North, 5634 Merchant Drive. West District Commander Tracy Hunter and her support staff will be there to discuss ongoing crime trends in the district, provide crime prevention tips, answer questions and address the concerns of residents.
