June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month! Elder abuse often goes unnoticed, unreported, and is not taken seriously. We hear you. We see you. We stand with you.

With May being Mental Health Awareness Month, we had Brandon from the TN Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse come and speak to our office about Opioid Overdose Training. Education and training is very important to our office, and Brandon helped us get set up for success.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Take time to check in on your friends, your family, your coworkers — and yourself. A simple conversation, kind word, or act of support can make a lasting difference.

Our office will be closed on Monday, May 25th for Memorial Day. We will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, May 26th at 8:00 am. I hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday weekend!

Today, we celebrated 20 years of hope, healing, and advocacy at the Randall E. Nichols Family Justice Center Anniversary Luncheon.

For two decades, the Family Justice Center has stood beside survivors, strengthened our community, and provided a safe place for those in need. We are grateful for every advocate, partner, supporter, and survivor who has been part of this journey.

While we honor the impact made over the last 20 years, we are equally excited for the future and the continued mission of serving survivors across our community. Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating this important milestone! 💜

Today, we were honored to attend the Keys of Hope Luncheon hosted by the YWCA Knoxville & the Tennessee Valley.

This event serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of supporting survivors, advocating for safety, and working together to build a stronger community for everyone. We are grateful to stand alongside organizations and community leaders committed to hope, healing, and empowerment.

Attention Veterans!

Knoxville Bar Association and Legal Aid of East Tennessee are offering an IN PERSON Free Legal Advice Clinic on June 10th at the Knox County Public Defender's Community Law Office.

Today DAG Charme Allen hosted the “Listen. Act. Advocate.” National Crime Victims’ Rights Week event where victims and people who serve victims were honored. Our Bridge to Safety team attended the event and spoke with people about the services they offer. Thank you General Allen for a great event!
