Join Get Convinced at the "Road Trip Ready" UT student event on Monday, May 4 at 2309 Kingston Pike.

Participate in our high-impact safety activities, including:
- The Seatbelt Convincer crash simulator
- VR distracted driving activity
- Prizes & trivia

Attendees can also receive FREE vehicle maintenance inspections from UT Fleet Management certified mechanics. Other UT agencies will be present with activities as well, with some special surprises in store for the UT students who attend!

Students at Career Magnet Academy learned about safe and unsafe driving habits through interactive presentations last Friday! This event was led by Francesca, one of our graduate research assistants and a student in the University of Tennessee Department of Public Health.

Students at Heritage High School enjoyed our activities last week! When asked, many students said their favorite part was learning about the dangers of drunk driving with Law Enforcement Liaison Armando Fontes, but the Seatbelt Convincer was a close second.

We got to debut a brand new activity created by one of the Center for Transportation Research, University of Tennessee Knoxville graduate research assistants, Francesca!

This activity teaches students about both speeding and the "Move Over Law". Students drive an RC car through a cone course after a short discussion, moving lanes when they come to an "accident" and a myTDOT HELP truck. They get to see in an interactive scenario what happens to the control you have on your vehicle when you drive faster than the reccomended speed.

Our second event last week was at Grainger High School! The students there enjoyed a Kahoot, a VR distracted driving activity, mock sobreity tests with the help of an onsite officer, and of course a spin on our prize wheel.

Last week we were blessed with two high school events!

The first was at Cocke County High School, one of our long-time partners. We got to try out their new auditorium - thank you to Coach Wester for hosting us in his driver's education class!

A little rain won't stop us!

Students at Hardin Valley Academy enjoyed the seatbelt convincer, VR distracted driving activity, driving safety Kahoot, and mock sobriety tests at our event last Friday.

As part of our events, we let students spin a prize wheel for a branded item. These prizes serve as reminders of the lessons they learned with - they will remember why they were "convinced" to wear a seatbelt, drive sober, and not drive distracted every time they see it.
