We are seeking applications for 2026-2027 Recreation Challenge Grants!

The deadline to submit an application for our annual Challenge Grant, which provides grants to non-profit projects associated with public parks or recreation facilities within the City limits, is Friday, June 26th. Eligible community groups, homeowner associations, schools, Scout troops and other organizations who are recipients are reimbursed 50 percent of the cost of a single project, up to $3,000.

Grants have been used for playground equipment, water fountains, benches and landscaping. Grant projects can also be used to promote activities in City Parks and on Greenways, such as fitness classes (Yoga, Tai Chi, or other activities), passive activities (painting, birdwatching).

The Neighborhood Resource Fair is coming back this August!

Join us on Saturday, Aug. 29 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the World’s Fair Exhibition Halls for a day focused on community, connection, and helpful resources. Last year, more than 90 vendors participated, offering information, giveaways, and services for residents, plus there were activities for kids, entertainment, free food, and door prizes.

Registration will be required for all attendees. It opens in early July, so keep an eye out for details.

This is a great opportunity to connect with local nonprofits, City and county agencies, and organizations that serve our community. We’ll also be sharing previews of door prizes on this page in the weeks leading up to the event.

We hope to see you there!
