This was the day her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Throughout the beginning stages of surgery and chemotherapy, Rebecca Dotson realized a couple things. Many people walk through serious illnesses, such as cancer, with zero help and support. A couple of things that encouraged her mom, Robin Dotson, throughout her journey was handmade hats, handwritten cards of encouragement and the verse

🧶 One of our very FAVORITE projects is just around the corner - Halloween at the NICU UT Medical Center! 🧡

Each year we deliver cocoon sets to the families so they can dress up their tiny warrior in the hospital! It’s such a fun day - check out previous stories WBIR Channel 10 has done in the past to see some examples of what our volunteers have created! You have until Friday, October 4th to ship them to our PO Box so they can be packaged and ready in time.

It’s the time of year to start collecting donations for one of our favorite projects - Halloween in the NICU at UT Medical Center! 🧶🎃

Each year 818 Ministries decks out all of the sweet, tiny warriors at UT Medical Center with cocoon + hat costumes like the one you see pictured. Pinterest is STOCKED 👏🏽 FULL 👏🏽 of ideas for creative patterns for these guys and they are such a fun treat to encourage the families on, what is often, a not-so-fun day. We’ll be collecting them through the end of September to be donated in October!

To read more about the project and see a WBIR Channel 10 article from last year, go our website and navigate to the blog page! ♥️🎃
