๐ RECORD-BREAKING NEWS! ๐
Our annual Cinco de Mayo Carnival was a HUGE success this year bringing in over $9,000โฆ the most EVER!
We are beyond grateful for our incredible community, families, and staff who showed up, supported, and made this event so special. West View may be a small school, but it is overflowing with love, generosity, and Wildcat pride!
Because of YOU, these funds will go directly back into our school through supporting classroom supplies, student programs, and extracurricular activities that help make learning even more meaningful and fun for our students.
Thank you for continuing to show that when we come together, amazing things happen! ๐๐พ๐

Once a Wildcat, Always a Wildcat!!
Today, we had the honor of welcoming back our graduating Class of 2026 Seniors for a very special Senior Stroll through the halls of West View! Seeing these former Wildcats return to where their journey began was such a meaningful moment for our students and staff.
Our current Wildcats lined the halls with cheers, smiles, and words of encouragement as they celebrated the accomplishments of these seniors and looked ahead to their own futures. It was especially heartwarming to see a few of our graduates reunite with their kindergarten teacher, who is still making a difference here at West View today!
We are so proud of the amazing young adults these students have become and grateful that West View will always be a part of their story. Congratulations Class of 2026, your Wildcat family is cheering you on every step of the way! ๐ ๐๐พ๐

๐ Staff Shout Out: Meet Aleah New! ๐
This week, weโre shining the spotlight on Aleah New, one of our incredible Special Education Teaching Assistants here at West View! Aleah has been part of our school family for 3 years, and we are so lucky to have her.
Ms. New works most closely with our Kindergarten students this year, and it is impossible to miss the way she shows up for them each and every day. Her patience, kindness, and dedication make such a difference, this is truly the job she was meant for.
When sheโs not supporting our students, Aleah enjoys gardening and has a special love for giraffes, dogs, and deer. A fun fact we love: this year she will have lived in Knoxville for exactly half of her life, and the day she was born, her dad planted trees that are now growing right alongside her, just like the impact she continues to grow here at West View.
Thank you, Ms. New, for the amazing care and heart you bring to our Kindergarteners and our school community!๐ ๐๐

This is Ms. Blancaโs first year at West View, and she is absolutely crushing it! She plays such an important role behind the scenes, helping keep our school running smoothly and efficiently each day.
Ms. Blanca attended IPN in Mexico for college and loves reading The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors.
Some fun facts about Ms. Blanca: she loves snow and was raised in a foreign country, which adds to the rich experiences and perspective she brings to our school community.

๐ Staff Shoutout: Meet Coach Charlie Longmire! ๐
This week, weโre excited to spotlight Coach Charlie Longmire, our incredible Gym teacher here at West View!
Coach has been teaching for an impressive 34 years and has spent 27 of those years at West View, a true legend in our school community! His energy, dedication, and love for students have made gym class a favorite for generations of West View kids.
His favorite animal is cows, which makes perfect sense since Coach lives on a farm and has cows of his own! He enjoys reading sports biographies and, not surprisingly, his hobbies include sports (do we see a trend yet?) and tackling DIY projects.
Some fun facts about Coach: he hates losing, enjoys driving fast, and has a great sense of humor that keeps students laughing and engaged. West View students absolutely LOVE going to his class and itโs easy to see why!
We are so grateful for Coach Longmireโs years of service, dedication, and the fun he brings to our school every single day. West View wouldnโt be the same without him!๐ ๐๐

West View values connection, community, and collaboration.
The members of the University of Tennesseeโs Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority donated tons of candy to our little school this past week. We are so grateful for their kindness and their dedication to support us in many ways.
We are using this donation to boost student morale during TCAPS, create prizes for Carnival festival, and fuel our teachers for teacher appreciation week!!
This all started with Ms. Emily Kelley- while substituting in our Preschool classroom she heard about our need. She jumped into action and set up a partnership with her sorority. We are beyond grateful for this connection and so thankful for Ms. Emily!!
