UT's new student success building, which will bring academic resources, career services and student support to the heart of campus, now has a name! 🎉 The Compton Center for Student Success will bring essential student services together in one location, making it even easier for students to find the support they need.

The building is named in recognition of a commitment from John (’83) and Cindy Compton, whose support for the university has spanned decades and benefited academic programs, faculty, athletics and student support.

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, announced that its new student success building will be named the Compton Center for Student Success.

Some traditions never change! 📸🥁

This special collaboration with the Pride of the Southland Band features Sydney Flenniken, the current Pride of the Southland drum major, alongside Steve Singleton, the drum major from 1966, thanks to photographs preserved by UT Libraries Special Collections.

Even more fitting for Tennessee's matchup with Alabama this weekend, the Pride of the Southland Band first introduced "Rocky Top" during the 1972 Alabama game halftime show. More than 50 years later, it's still one of the most iconic sounds in college sports.
