See what services our departments have to offer. Learn about our history – our City turned 100 years old in 2009 – we appreciate having the lowest crime rate in Washington State. Visit our parks – La Center offers a plentiful supply of recreational activities, outstanding soccer and baseball fields, miles of hiking and biking trails, outdoor entertainment at our amphitheatre, kayaking or canoeing on the East Fork Lewis River - all just a short walk from your front door. The La Center school system offers exceptional education opportunities boasting small class sizes, highly qualified staff, and a low employee turnover rate. Continuing education is readily available at many well-respected local, regional and state colleges and universities. While retaining the small town feel, we are working to expand the small, but growing, commercial and industrial areas. We believe in strong family values that are reflected in all aspects of our community. Spend some time and explore. We hope it will inspire you to visit or, better yet, become part of the La Center community. Discover La Center…..naturally.

Reminder! On June 10, 2026, City Council approved Resolution 492 after a sewer utility rate study and resident feedback. Starting January 2027, an additional volumetric charge of $1.83 per 100 cubic feet of water usage using winter averaging will be added to the monthly sewer rate for single family homes.

While over the last ten years, city sewer rates have not increased, operating expenses, insurance, salary and materials costs have risen. In addition to aging infrastructure, our sewer plant has not had a major update in over 20 years. This change in sewer billing will allow the city to continue to offer reliable service to residents and perform state mandated updates to the system. Furthermore, volumetric billing will give residents increased control over their rates.

For those with questions about this decision, check out our website to view previous City Council discussions. We will have more details about how volumetric rates will influence your sewer bill in the coming months. If you have concerns regarding your new rate, we encourage you to check out our limited-income utility billing rates: https://ci.lacenter.wa.us/city-departments/administrative-services/utility-billing/.

You have 3 options with the online payment: you may pay from your checking account, your savings account, or a credit card.
