Today was a special day for the La Grande Police Department as we celebrated two members of our LGPD family during a swearing-in and promotion ceremony!

We were honored to officially welcome our newest police officer, MacKenzie Perry, to the LGPD family!

MacKenzie comes to us highly recommended and brings with her a proud history of service. She is a United States Marine Corps veteran and comes from a family with deep roots in law enforcement and public safety. Her grandfather served as Sheriff of Hood River County, her father served as Chief of Police in both Hood River and Elgin, her mother was a 911 dispatcher, and her husband currently serves as a Sergeant with the La Grande Police Department.

We also had the privilege of officially recognizing the promotion of Garrett Jones to the rank of Sergeant!

Sergeant Jones is a United States Army veteran who has served our department with dedication and professionalism, most recently as our Special Victims Detective. His commitment to serving victims, investigating difficult cases, and protecting our community has been an important part of his service to LGPD.

We are excited to see Sergeant Jones take this next step in his career and look forward to the leadership and experience he will bring to his new role.

Please join us in welcoming Officer Perry and congratulating Sergeant Jones!

We are proud of both of you and grateful for your commitment to serving the La Grande community!
