Our computer issues have been resolved. We are able to process transactions again.

09/01/2026

Our computers are having connectivity issues at this time. We are unable to process any transactions. This looks to be a statewide DMV issue.

However, it appears our sub stations are still able to process renewal transactions at this time. They are unable to process title transactions, issue new plates or make any changes to your record. They also can not process Farm registrations.

You must be the owner of the vehicle and have the green renewal form along with your insurance on the vehicle and your current driver license to go to one of the sub stations.

Sub Station locations: Please call them before making a trip there:
Schulenburg: Farmer's Insurance at 501 Summit St; 979-743-2120
Flatonia: Napa store at 515 N La Grange st; 361-865-3900
Round Top Mercantile at 438 N Washington; 979-249-3117

We apologize for this inconvenience.

Since our systems are down at the Fayette County Tax Assessor in La Grange you can renew at one of our substations.
They are not affected by this outage.
You must have the green renewal form and be the owner on record, not the renewal recipient. They will ask for your insurance, driver's license, and it must be current and have the star.
The substations are only able to process registrations that are not expired more than 30 days and are not farm registrations. The farm registrations must come thru our office.

Contact them before making the trip to do a registration.
