👻 Happy Halloween 👻

Are you going trick or treating? Here’s a few tips and tricks 🎃

🎃Trick or Treat in the daylight. If you go at dark make sure you are visible to others and carry a flashlight.

🎃Stick to the sidewalks. If there isn’t one make sure you’re still staying off the road or as far to the edge as possible.

🎃Stay in groups. Don’t go searching for candy all by yourself. It’s loads more fun to go with friends and safer.

🎃Look both ways before crossing the street. Double check that there are no vehicles coming before crossing.

We hope you have a fun and safe night!

Thank you to all the first responders we work with on a regularly basis. As a department we only play a part in helping our community. We couldn’t serve you all without the help of dispatch, local and state law enforcement, neighboring fire departments and ambulance services, and both fire and medical air support. Thank you to all the first responders we work with. We appreciate you and all you do in our community.

LaGrange Fire was mutual aided this evening by Hawk Springs Fire Department to a motor vehicle accident on highway 85 south of Hawk Springs. We were able to assist them with our tender Pumper 1, our ambulance MS 30, and 6 firefighters. Traffic is being let through as they’re clearing the scene. Please continue to avoid the area unless travel is necessary.

Today we had the privilege of hosting the LaGrange Elementary School Students 🏫📚

We went over what to do if there’s a fire in the building and practiced calling out and crawling out. 🏡🔥

We went over what different fire extinguishers are used for and how to use them. They even got to test out some water ones. 🧯🔥

We went through a few trucks and showed the kids some of the tools we use. 🪓🧰🚒

And we finished the tour with goodie bags and stickers for the kids. 🍭🚒

In August five of our EMTs were able to attend the state trauma conference to earn CE hours towards renewing their licenses and further growing in their knowledge of how they can serve the LaGrange community to the best of their abilities. They also had the privilege of hearing from a fighter pilot as the main speaker for this year’s conference. One of our EMTs snagged a selfie with him.

Don’t worry folks the two in the helicopter aren’t licensed yet just starting their training early. 😉 Along with seizing the opportunity to check out one of the many medical helicopter we have the privilege to work with in LaGrange. 🚁⚕️

We will never forget those who lost their lives. The 2,977 people in the towers, airplane, surrounding area, and first responders will always be remembered.
