That simple number points to a thriving and active organization — one filled with programs, committees, service, gatherings, and the behind-the-scenes work that kept the Club moving forward.

We are so grateful for Katherine Heath, whose creativity, professionalism, and warm spirit have made such a positive impact at the La Jolla Woman’s Club.

Recently featured in La Jolla Village News Women in Business issue and helping lead the Club to recognition as #2 Event Venue in La Jolla for February 2026, Katherine continues to elevate everything she touches.

Always gracious and incredibly helpful, she goes above and beyond for our Board, members, and guests every day. Thank you, Katherine, for all you do for LJWC!

A Tradition of Leadership

Club records from the 1960s show that leadership at La Jolla Woman’s Club has always involved thoughtful planning, financial stewardship, and guiding the direction of the organization.

The Founding of the Philanthropy Committee

At a November 1968 Board Meeting, La Jolla Woman’s Club voted to organize a Philanthropy Committee — formally recognizing a spirit of giving that had already shaped the Club for decades.

From volunteer service to charitable outreach, members had long supported the community. This vote simply gave that work a permanent home.

Some decisions are small in the moment, but meaningful for generations.
