At the town hall on transit 5/18, we (Education, Infrastructure, and Community Development group) showed our support for the Let’s Go San Diego bill. The Let’s Go SD citizens’ ballot initiative would impose a half cent sales tax to pay for huge investments in public transit in the county (http://www.letsgosd.org). Friends at the Green New Deal at UCSD has also been working to support this bill. We also talked about some other initiatives the TLC group has been working on, such as Beach to Bin, support for Cal Grant expansion, and support for a transit station ridership safety initiative. We look forward to continue supporting and endorsing city-, county-, and state-wide initiatives that benefit the wellbeing of UCSD members.
