Community Partnerships Make a Difference!💛📝

A special THANK YOU to our assigned squadron, 849 AMXS, TSgt Wesley Morey from Holloman AFB - 49th Wing and our wonderful community partners for supporting our 44 fifth-grade Eagles as they revised and finalized their D.A.R.E. essays for the countywide contest!

Your time, encouragement, and dedication made a meaningful difference in our students' learning and confidence. Together, we are making a difference, one Eagle at a time!

Calling all federally connected families!!

The 2026 Federal Impact Aid Survey is available for completion. The Impact Aid Survey is a required form to be completed separately for each student by parents/guardians using the PowerSchool Portal and will help the district and community receive their fair share of federal funds.

Every single student counts. Whether your family is active-duty military, a civilian employee at Holloman AFB, a worker for the U.S. Postal Service, U.S. Forest Service, White Sands National Park, Mescalero Hospital, Border Patrol, or living in federal housing, your response directly brings funding into APS schools!

How to access the form? Just log in to your Power School Parent Portal and find the Impact Aid survey under Forms. It’s super quick!

Last week, our students had the opportunity to learn important fire safety tips, ask questions, and see some of the amazing equipment firefighters use to help keep our community safe.🧑‍🚒🔥🚒

A huge thank you to District 3 - Otero County Fire & EMS and the Burro Flats Fire Department for sharing your time, knowledge, and commitment to keeping our community safe. Our students truly enjoyed the experience and learned so much! Here are some pictures highlighting last week's visit! 🧑‍🚒🔥🚒

🧡Alamogordo Public Schools will be celebrating Unity Day on Wednesday, Oct. 21st! We encourage everyone to wear orange on this day to show your support for kindness, inclusion, and bullying prevention.🧡

Unity Day is an annual event during National Bullying Prevention Month that encourages us to join together to create healthier communities through kindness, acceptance of differences, and inclusion. Started by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center in 2011, Unity Day is now celebrated worldwide. By standing together, we can make a tremendous impact on the lives of young people and demonstrate the power of unity. Let’s unite and focus on the positive actions we can take to build healthier, more inclusive communities.
