A grassroots, community-led effort to strengthen Grossmont Union High School District Board. This is a volunteer group moderated by community members.

We do our best to moderate comments, but we are not available to review group discussions 24/7. We will not tolerate bullying, defamatory, offensive, discriminatory, or threatening comments made toward other Facebook commenters or community members. These guidelines also apply to discussions of members of the GUHSD Board of Trustees. Our students can see these discussions, and we strive to set a good example for what East County leadership looks like.

What's a top issue of GUHSD Trustee area 4 candidate Chrissy McCullough?

Well, at a recent event when given the opportunity to share what she would do for our students, she chose this:

"I will not put Halal food in front of your children"

Really, Chrissy? I thought you were here to support ALL children.

East County and El Cajon in particular is home to a large and vibrant Muslim and Islamic community, and those kids attend our schools. We're proud of our district for expanding menus to include Halal options and hope they continue to do so in other schools in our area.

Personally, I think that chicken looks mighty tasty!

What kind of message does it send that you want to limit food choices that only impacts one set of students? Especially a religious group of students.

Instead, why don't we all just vote for:

so we can get back to working on issues that actually matter and help bring our district back together, not continue to grow the divide.

It's HAPPENING!!!

We've locked arms with these amazing librarians on the wildest rollercoaster we never asked to be on.

And now this:

"We are elated to share that this afternoon GEA & GUHSD reached a settlement on the teacher librarian union retaliation unfair labor practice charge. Days before the charge was to be argued at a hearing in front of an administrative law judge from PERB, the parties agreed to fully reinstate all nine teacher librarians at the start of the 27-28 school year and provide layoff protections for two years. There is no denying that this win is because of our union strength and being able to utilize all legal remedies available to us. We know when we fight for what’s best for students, we win! #

Just think of all the amazing things that will unfold when the librarians are back in their libraries, the board is full of trustees who will work hard to strengthen and support our schools and we can all watch our district blossom and grow.

Let's get this done my friends!! Get out there and vote!!!
