⚠️ Fairmount Cemetery Storm Damage
Following the severe storms that moved through our area this week, a large portion of a tree has come down in Fairmount Cemetery.
If you plan to visit the cemetery, please use caution, particularly on the north side where the fallen limb is located.
North Township will have the tree and debris cleaned up as soon as possible. Once the area is cleared and safely accessible, we will also be able to more thoroughly assess any damage. At this time, it does appear that a few of the older headstones on the north side of the cemetery may have been damaged by the falling limb.
We appreciate everyone's patience as we work to get the area cleaned up and determine the extent of any damage.
⚠️ Mt. Zion (County Line) Cemetery Storm Damage
We had part of a tree come down at the county line cemetery as well. This one does not appear to have caused any damage to headstones and will also be removed as soon as possible.
Obviously with the extensive damage in the area and the weather that continues to be an issue this week, this may delay the cleanup, but rest assured it is being addressed!
